This is a 14" x 18" autographed, matted display of famed Scottish author and dramatist, James M. Barrie, best known for his classic play and book, Peter Pan. The display consists of the following:

1. A one page 5.75" x 7.5" letter written in blue ink by James M. Barrie to Elizabeth on Hotel Royal Danielli,Venezia, letterhead. It is dated May 15. There is a pencil notation to the right of the date that says "1936."  He signed it "J.M B." The  letter says,"Conceive me now in gondolas, and Frank in his element; and showing a knowledge of Venice that astonishes Miss Bergnar. The hotel is on the grand canal and the place astonishingly beautiful.  We shall be away a bit longer than I expected-ten days or so, as we don't got to Cortina til the end of the week. This is just to say that I hope you are getting better." The letter is in very good condition, with a central horizontal and vertical fold, a few creases and wrinkles, and light scattered toning.

2. An 8" x 10" color photo of the face of James M. Barrie.

3. A 3 1/4" x 1 1/2" gold name plate that has been etched with the words, "James M. Barrie 1860-1937."

The individual pieces have all been put together in an archivally matted display with a brown outer matte and an off-white inner matte to a 14" x 18" size.

The letter was independently authenticated by PSA/DNA. A copy of the letter is shown in my photos. You will also receive a certificate of authenticity from TinkerBellTalks.com and a lifetime guarantee on the authenticity of the letter and autograph or a full refund would be made.
