You never know where you will find a treasure. This photo of me as Tinker Bell in the lower right hand has me perched on a stool pouting. It's from a movie 'still' of me actually working on Sound Stage One at Disney. But it comes from a "Fairy" strange source. We know that it is part of a magazine story planted by Disney Studio explaining about the extra steps that the productions take to make their famous movies so life-like. How?

Let me tell you about it and then how it came into my hands. This is reproduced from the framed magazine article that hangs on my wall. What makes it so special to me is the fact that in the upper left hand corner there is an action picture of Kathryn Beaumont acting out the part of Wendy along with Roland Dupree handling the part of Peter Pan.

Kathy, as many of you know, was under contract to Walt Disney and she was the model and voice of Alice in Alice in Wonderland and later as Wendy. Roland Dupree is one of the greatest dancers I have ever danced with and here's a little "secret" I was the one who told Marc Davis about Roland's talent and that's how he landed the job.

Back to the 8" x 10" black and white glossy. There is a paragraph of text that explains beautifully why I can say I'm "Tinker Bell." For decades that page was the only proof that I had of my relationship to Disney's Tinker Bell. Back in the '60s, a co-worker, the famous animator/artist, Jim Fletcher, had saved a special magazine insert from 1953. My birthday was coming up and he had the page you see above mounted and framed as a surprise. When he presented it to me, I was speechless (if you can imagine it). I have never seen the drawing of Tinker Bell on the lower left hand corner before or since. I love it and I especially honor this photo because it goes back over 50 years. It is part of the lore of Disney.

That is why I chose to write the following message on it "Faith Trust & Pixie Dust!"
This preprinted message is followed by my personally handwritten name, Margaret Kerry. Under the picture of me perched on the stool I personally write "Tinker Bell."
