Are you ready for a REALLY happy day? Well, Tinker Bell is ready. Take a look at this photo. Doesn't it make you want to giggle? This is Tink at her most playful. When I appear at libraries to read to the kids, we often end up stretched out on the carpet with our feet kicking lazily back and forth just like Tink's. We play a game to see who can make the happiest face. I've won the contest only twice. Ah, well.

A few years ago, a very attractive lady in her 30's approached me at a convention and stated that this pose of Tinker Bell had saved her life. Her name is Lisa and a couple of years earlier she had been in a horrific struggle with serious health problems and was terribly depressed.

Lisa had found the image of bright-eyed Tink on her tummy. She kept it in her room and every time she had dark thoughts, she told me, "I would look at Tinker Bell with her cocky grin and happy eyes and I would force myself to stop the dark thoughts and think happy thoughts."

Lisa and I stay in touch and as a salute to her I have taken to writing a message on this 8" x 10" glossy photo in the upper right hand corner. The message? Why of course it's "Think Happy Thoughts!" Followed by "Tinker Bell." Then, after this preprinted message, (as Tinker Bell's reference model and alter ego) I personally sign my name, Margaret Kerry.

When Lisa — a healthy Lisa — saw the words I had inscribed she said, "Margaret, do you remember what happens when you 'think happy thoughts?' Hey, friend, you CAN FLY!"
