This photo, from my personal collection, features two giants of show business, Joan Davis, star of her own top rated TV comedy- I Married Joan, and Eddie Cantor, the highest paid comedian/singer in the Ziegfeld Follies, followed by decades of starring  on his own radio show and in films produced mainly by Sam Goldwyn.

This is a very rare ‘still’ from the 1948 RKO movie If You Knew Susie. I played the daughter, Marjorie, while Bobby Driscoll was cast as Junior. Of course, Bobby went on to voice Peter Pan for Disney’s 1953 hit movie. I joined the cast as Tinker Bell’s reference model. I have signed the photo with my name, Margaret Kerry.  This is an original autograph, not a copy.

Another actor in the photo was Mabel Paige who played Grandma. She was the famous character actress who made her name in the early Alan Ladd and Veronica Lake films. She was a dear lady.

This film was a major turning point for me. Not only did the legendary Nick Castle choreograph my featured song and dance number, My Brooklyn Love Song – Eddie Cantor decided that I needed a new stage-name. Peggy Lynch (my name at the time) was out and for the first time my screen credit read Margaret Kerry. Oh, yes, I also graduated high school during the filming.Talk about exciting!!

This 8" x 10" black and white photo has been double matted to an 11" x 14" size.  It has been matted with a white outer mat and a black inner mat, plus an acid-free backing board has been placed behind the photo to protect it.

If you love films or if you are just beginning to explore the magic of movie history and our great entertainers, this rare ‘still’ would be a wonderful addition to your collection!
